The Department of Maryland
The American Legion, Department of Maryland is a community-service organization numbering nearly 42,000 members — men and women — in 123 American Legion Posts throughout the state. Posts range in size from 15 members to over 1,600. Since chartering in 1919, the Department has continued The American Legion's commitment through programs dedicated to Veterans Affairs, Americanism, Children & Youth, and National Defense/Homeland Security.
